Power BI
Power BI is Microsoft's business intelligence tool for analysing and visualising company data.
Power BI connects to data sources such as Business Central, SQL databases or files, prepares the data and presents it in reports and dashboards. Refreshes can be automated so metrics do not have to be assembled manually each month.
The benefit comes less from the charts than from the data modelling behind them. Only once it is defined how a metric is calculated and which sources it draws on do reports deliver reliable and mutually consistent figures.
Typical analyses in mid-sized companies are revenue and contribution margin analysis, liquidity overviews, inventory metrics and utilisation or project reporting.
