Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot is the AI functionality Microsoft integrates into products such as Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Copilot is not a single product but an umbrella term. There are Copilot features in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams as well as in Business Central, where they assist with creating sales lines, marketing texts or bank reconciliation, for example.
A key advantage is the embedding in the existing environment: Copilot respects existing Microsoft 365 permissions, so through the AI users only see what they already have access to.
Licensing should be considered separately. Not every Copilot feature requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence; some scenarios can be implemented more economically via Copilot Studio or directly through Azure AI.
