Artificial intelligence (AI)
Artificial intelligence describes methods by which software solves tasks that usually require human perception, language or judgement.
In everyday business, AI today usually means machine learning, and large language models in particular. These models are not programmed but trained on large volumes of data; their strength lies in tasks involving language, text and unstructured documents.
What matters most for companies are recurring, document- or language-heavy workflows — extracting data from invoices, classifying enquiries or answering internal questions based on your own material.
Realistic framing is important: language models produce plausible-sounding answers, not necessarily correct ones. Productive applications therefore need verification mechanisms, traceable sources and clear responsibility for decisions.
