Private AI Infrastructure

AI for Business Central

"Which orders are at risk because delivery dates have been missed?" — questions like this are ones your ERP cannot answer today. With private AI across Business Central, your documents and your knowledge base, we change that: employees ask in natural language, the system answers from your real data — on a private model instance that does not pass your ERP data to external providers.

AI for Business Central at a glance

The solution combines your Business Central data with documents, knowledge base and, if desired, e-mails into a shared, searchable data space. Existing permissions remain effective: anyone not allowed to see a piece of information in Business Central won't get it from the AI either. Sign-in runs via Entra ID — the same identity as in the rest of your Microsoft world.

And why not simply Microsoft Copilot? The honest answer: for many everyday tasks in Microsoft 365, Copilot is a good choice, and we integrate it too. A private Business Central AI plays to its strengths where Copilot has limits — in deep queries across ERP documents and connected files, with sensitive data that requires a controlled environment, with predictable monthly costs instead of per-user licence and consumption costs, and with workloads beyond chat such as classification or batch analyses. The two complement each other — we help you draw the line correctly.

Why us? Because this solution needs three competencies at once: ERP knowledge to interpret Business Central data and processes correctly; AI engineering to set up retrieval and models properly; and operational competence so that everything runs securely and permanently. We have been working with Business Central and NAV in the mid-market for more than 13 years — and on request we operate the AI environment completely as a Managed AI Runtime. The entry point is deliberately small: a live demo, then a pilot with one business problem, one data space and one clear success metric.

FAQ

AI for Business Central: frequently asked questions

Still have open questions? We're happy to clarify them in an initial call.

Can ChatGPT access Business Central?
Technically, external AI services can be connected — but your ERP data then leaves your controlled environment, which is not acceptable for many companies from a data protection perspective. Our approach uses a private model instance: the same natural-language experience, but your data stays under your control.
What can Business Central Copilot do — and what can't it?
Microsoft's Copilot provides good support for standard tasks within Business Central. Its limits show in deep queries across documents, files and external storage, in model choice and in cost control for broad rollouts. A private BC AI complements Copilot exactly there — the two are not mutually exclusive.
Does our ERP data stay in-house?
Processing runs in a private, controlled environment with documented data locations in Germany or the EU — depending on the target architecture, in your cloud environment or on dedicated infrastructure. We fully document which data flows where, including DPA and TOMs.
Does this also work with Dynamics NAV?
Yes. Older NAV versions can also be connected as a data source — something we know well from our interfaces business. Often the BC AI is even a good occasion to consider the upgrade to Business Central at the same time; we can plan both together if desired.
